Bringing Books and Stories for Everyone
For Banned Book Week, we will be delivering copies of New Kid by Jerry Craft to our community members in Franklin and Grand Isle County
New Kid is written for ages 8-12 and tells the story of a 12-year-old black boy who experiences culture shock when he enrolls at a private school. In 2021, a Texas school district banned New Kid for the promotion of Critical Race Theory and Marxism.
